Black Swan Restaurant, The (Binalong, NSW)
Following months of renovations, we reopened on 9 May 2008 and have been taking bookings ever since.
Our website (theblackswan.com.au) is up and running with details of menus, wine list, opening hours and so forth. The site includes information about the restaurant's history from its earliest days as a coaching stop in 1847 (9 years before Cobb & Co was established in Melbourne), the picturesque village of Binalong, how to get there and accommodation choices within walking distance of the Swan. The website is still being added to, so bear with us while we build something really useful and informative!
You can be confident that the food will not have changed a great deal from earlier days (it was restored as a restaurant in 1976), and will continue in the tradition of Aussie fine dining, country-style. Relaxed, informal, generous serves - and all delicious!
The ambience has not changed much either - elegant and charismatic, with linen tablecloths and napkins. The sort of place you'd want to dress up for a little bit!
The Swan is fully licensed, air-conditioned in summer and heated by log fires in winter. Full English roast lunches have always been a feature on a Sunday, and will continue to be in the future with the doors opening at 12.00 noon sharp. We are also open for dinner on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, doors open at 6.30 pm.
We look forward to meeting you soon. Please remember - reservations are essential. (02) 6227 4236.
